Rakuno Nabe (Dairy Farmer’s Hot-Pot)

材料(4人分)

  • 500g of cabbage
    7 potatoes
    100g of processed cheese
    1 onion, large
    5-7 strips of bacon
    salad oil, as needed
    salt and pepper, to season
    6 tablespoons of tomato ketchup
    2 tablespoons of butter
    1.5 tablespoons of green peas
    ⅔ cup of milk

    Cut cabbage in 4-5cm pieces.

    Chop potatoes into chunks. Dice cheese. Thinly slice onions to about 5mm thickness.

    Add alternating layers of cabbage, potatoes, and onions to the pot.

    Top with bacon, and sprinkle cheese over top.

    Season with salt and pepper.

    Top with ketchup and butter, then cover and simmer over medium heat.

    Once vegetables have softened and cheese has melted, add green peas and milk. Briefly simmer, then remove from heat.
